About this deal

It took me a couple of practices with the Brother Max 2-in-1 Thermometer to learn how to use it, my baby did not like it being put in his ear so for now I could only use it as a forehead thermometer. I loved that it can take the temperature of anything. The display was very clear and accurate. I think it is a good price for what you get although it's at the more expensive end of the spectrum. I would recommend the Brother Max Finn Bath and Room Thermometer to fellow parents because I really like the fun 'Ray' design, it's very well made, easy to use, comes in a choice of colours and promotes child safety. I use this product more as a bath thermometer than a room thermometer but I like the versatility of the product and having the option to use as a room thermometer. When using as a room thermometer the thermometer stands well on any flat surface but the fishy 'Ray' design lends itself to being a bathroom product / item.

The flashing red light makes it easier to know if the water is too hot without having to look at the numbers. Tested by mum Kelly Dunlop-Chatburn for the M&B Awards 2016: It's an easy product to use and no need for anything extra such as ear caps. It has multiple uses such as taking body temperature, room temperature, food temperature and water temperature. One product does the job of four which saves money on buying many different gadgets. It's lightweight and small so easy to transport in changing bag. There is not one thing I would change with the product, it is amazing! Tested by mum Taryn Moore for the M&B Awards 2017: I'd like a clear chart showing what children's temperature should be and when to worry! Tested by mum Milli Thompson for the M&B Awards 2016: I don't have to hold baby down or distract too much to get a result as it’s so fast and easy to get a result that you can trust is perfectly accurate and trustworthy.I would 100% love this product if the body temperature reading was more accurate, however I don't believe any product that doesn't actually touch the skin would give a precise accurate reading. Maybe if the product had the flexibility to also take body temp in the ear for example it would be the perfect thermometer. Product Information I loved the design of the Brother Max: Finn Bath & Room Thermometer. It not only looks great but is easy to transport from bedroom to bathroom as well as if you go away. It gave me piece of mind that the bathwater was the right temperature as well as the room temperature. I really liked the flashing red light feature when the bath water was too hot especially when you have bubbles in the bath as it was easy to see. The Brother Max 2-in-1 thermometer is something I'd recommend to friends. It is compact and very simple to operate. The price is also good. I am not sure how the battery life is yet, that could be an issue. Instructions were very wordy. Bit unnecessary as it was kind of self explanatory. Tested by mum Tracy Platts for the M&B Awards 2017:

We love the ear and forehead monitor! So easy and so fast to get accurate results. Minimal fuss to baby so easier to get results. Looks really snazzy in its own holder and the light is brilliant for night time but clear also for day time. Easy to keep nice and clean with baby wipes. Battery lasts for ages. One thing that I would change about this product would be that the bottons on the thermometer aren't that clear. Maybe they could have a clearer symbol on the to make it a little more obvious what the button does. But everything else is spot on, I honestly wouldn't change anything else. Tested by mum Hayley Mills for the M&B Awards 2017: Press the MEM button to access the memory function and read up to nine previous temperature readings.

I wouldn't change anything about the Brother Max 2-in-1 Thermometer, good value for money. Tested by mum Stephanie Price for the M&B Awards 2016: It sped up the preparation of bath time as I could see the temperature as the bath filled up and adjust accordingly. During the one heatwave we had this summer it also helped me decide how cover by newborn at night so that she was warm but not too hot. It is so easy to use, far easier to use than any other thermometer i have used and very accurate. It gives very accurate readings and is well designed. It looks great, there are just 3 buttons and easy to follow instructions. I love that it is hygienic. All three of my children had a virus at once and instead of having to put a new ear guard on each time as i would have had to on my old in ear thermometer I was able to move between them. You can take your child's temperature un-intrusively by simply pointing the thermometer at their forehead. When my children were poorly I was able to take their temperature without them even realising I was doing it which gave me peace of mind and allowed me to regularly monitor them, even when they were asleep. It’s fantastic that you can also use the product to take the temperature of bath water, food and rooms. The design of the thermometer is very child friendly. My favourite feature about the product is the flashing light which is great when using it in the bath to warn you if the temperature is too hot. We now use the thermometer at every bath time but for me I don't like it as a room thermometer as much as the one we are currently using. Great as a bath thermometer though.

There were times when there was nothing registering on the screen and I had to tap it on the counter to get the reading. I found the reading a little out in comparison to a digital ear thermometer. This product is great as it has multiple uses however I prefer the accuracy of other thermometers for taking body temperatures. For ease of use, and trans-portability this product is fab.

I can safely see that the water is at a suitable temperature for baby, instead of using my elbow. It flashes to say if water is too hot or cold.

The only issue I had with this product was that I found it almost impossible to remove the protective battery strip before using the thermometer for the first time. This wasn't just me being inept, as I had asked my father and partner to try also, in the end we had to use another implement to prize the battery out and then pull away the strip.
