About this deal

I don't know why, but every time I read a story with feces descriptions, I visualize them and my brain imagines the smell.

review: ’The Slob’ by Aron Beauregard Book review: ’The Slob’ by Aron Beauregard

A single, soon to be mother experiences a bizarre sequence of events triggered by her artificial insemination. My empathy for him died, even before it had a chance to live, when I watched him play by himself through his mother eyes. Back to the Hollywood fluff: The movies would like you to believe that somebody fights for their life and survive the ordeal, and everything is la-tee-da and butterfly kisses from there on.He never holds back on the disgusting, and I’m often impressed by how far he can take things when anything gruesome occurs.

They try to escape, and find even more corpses of women in a barn, each with their own ‘imaginative injuries’. It would’ve been a completely different story had Edward Scissorhands was the one at the other side of the door but alas! His appearance and behaviour are repulsive, all too familiar, and growing increasingly worrisome by the day. But I hope this clears up some misunderstanding, that this isn’t horror nor is it intended to be In the horror genre. This book isn’t for me, extreme horror really isn’t my thing but to suggest readers of this book need psychiatric help is narrow minded and reductive.Having said that, I must admit I was surprised how good the writing is, and if you can stand the horrific descriptions, there is a story somewhere in there. Have you enjoyed Ed Lee, Wrath James White, Kristopher Triana or any of the other Splatterpunk greats?

That was a mistake, though, because I became overly critical when I compared other stories to it – even stories by Beauregard himself. But there’s a reason the structures in the bowels of her gothic castle have taken so long to develop—they were never meant to see the light of day. And it shakes you inside, makes your gut drop in that moment, makes your stomach turn as if you are part of those people's lives. Which all came together to bring out an evil being that relished on it all, pain, brutality, cannibalism, death not counting a few other things ,that I'll let you discover for yourselves. His stories were very extreme, but really good, and I knew there was something special about his writing.

To be honest, when I looked at this silly book title and rather juvenile front cover, I thought that this would prove to be just another rather pointless, gratuitously sick, ridiculous 'C' rated extreme horror offering which would both underwhelm and disappoint. With Playground, Aron Beauregard transcends himself, delivering a genuinely chilling, uncomfortable novel that will make even the most jaded horror fan squirm.

With his wife and their friends, he investigates the most bizarre and horrible incidents in human history on the Evil Examined Podcast. Then he disgusted me even more when I watched him play with rats, which are his favorite pets, (sort of😆) through Daniel’s eyes . After a chance encounter led to her being held captive in a disgusting house of horrors, she fought tooth and nail to escape the clutches of a man known only as The Slob.Since his parents found a short story titled “Zombie Child” stuffed in the back pocket of his dirty acid-washed jeans in the sixth grade, he has been writing horror. Five unfathomable tales of disturbing mutation paired with ten original, malevolent artworks trapped within. In an effort to generate some income for the birth of her child and for her disabled husband, she started working as a door to door sales woman selling state of the art vaccum cleaner.
