About this deal

Hori have just released Split Pad Pro Attachment Set where you buy the big controllers and a middle bit that makes the Split Pad Pro into a wired controller with a headphone/microphone port. (I haven't seen the middle bit sold separately yet.) Watch out for the Split Pad Fit get sold with this middle bit in the future maybe. In addition to detachable grips that enhance your experience holding the Joy-Con controllers, there are accessories that completely replace the Joy-Cons while also functioning as ergonomic grips. Our favorite option in 2023 is still Hori's Split Pad, but now there are two different models: the Split Pad Pro and Split Pad Compact.

As with Satisfye's previous model, the ZenGrip Pro is extremely lightweight--it doesn't make the console feel any heavier (in fact, because it makes holding the Switch so much easier, it almost feels lighter). The bottom of the grip has two hooks for additional console support, and they also allow the Switch to stand securely upright on its own, with enough room for the charging cable to run underneath. But if you find yourself constantly playing in handheld mode and notice that a few games are too much for your thumbs to handle, this will solve most of your problems at the cost of rumble. Assuming you can get over the aesthetic abomination of your new Switch, your hands will definitely thank you. Since the grip has a power bank inside, it is heavier than the other grips on this list. The bulkiness that it adds works in its favor when it comes to ergonomics, though. The increased depth combined with rounded handles makes the Switch more comfortable to hold for longer play sessions. As the main draw here is extended playtime, that's certainly a good thing. The Split Pad Pro may look silly, but the controller’s benefits are obvious the minute you hold your Nintendo Switch in your hand. The controller's wide grip and hefty size distribute weight in a way that makes the device feel lighter. The textured rear surfaces and subtle side handles feel fantastic and secure in your hands. It’s solidly built, and reminds me of old Nintendo portables that are so durable they could literally survive in war zones. Skull & Co has made a series of great Nintendo Switch grips that offer something most other grips don't: customization. Skull & Co's NeoGrip is a lightweight attachment for Switch and Switch OLED. It comes with three different handle sets that can be swapped on the fly.The portability and added bonus of not monopolizing the living room TV has led to a serious increase in my viable gaming hours. It was like I was playing on my TV, with a traditional controller in hand. Even classics like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were made easier thanks to improved accuracy when aiming arrows or directing the camera. It’s an instant boon to anyone who plays almost exclusively in handheld mode and has felt the hand strain that often comes with it. If you regularly play your Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, the absolute best accessory you can buy is a detachable grip. Though the Switch is one of Nintendo's best gaming consoles ever, not everyone finds the default form factor very comfortable--especially when playing for hours in a row. Thankfully, there are third-party accessories that drastically improve the Nintendo Switch's ergonomics. We've rounded up a handful of the best Nintendo Switch grips available in 2023.

Also use Turbo Hold to set the button to continually activate Turbo without having to hold the button down. Take the Switch Pro Controller, chop it in half, and then slide those two halves into the slots where the Joy-Cons would normally go when in handheld mode. It’s as simple as that, but that change makes all the difference. Thanks to the ergonomics of a full-sized controller, there are actual grips on the Split Pad Pro. Rather than having to pinch the Switch between your thumb and forefinger — as you would when using Joy-Cons — you can now hold the grips as you would a traditional controller. It’s much more comfortable, and it feels much more natural. The last thing to consider: Your Nintendo Switch is going to look very, very silly once the Split Pad Pro controllers are attached. The increased bulk of the controllers may feel more comfortable and make games easier to play, but it also makes your Switch wider and objectively goofier-looking. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. This Switch grip offers a feature the others on this list don't: extended battery life. Fitted with a built-in 10,000mAh internal battery, Newdery's grip roughly doubles the battery life while playing in handheld mode. It's only compatible with the regular Nintendo Switch, though. Both Split Pad models are definitely worth considering if you're goal is to not only improve the ergonomics of handheld mode, but add more traditional controls. Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame.
