There's a sense of doom hanging over the story, and you can't help but think things aren't heading for a HEA. Accordingly, they install spyware on Adam's computer to track his on-line activities in an effort to get a handle on what's going on in his life. His approach to gay sex is looked upon by his handlers in the Navy as a sign that there is something mentally deficient in him or that he is simply depraved. What had me intrigued was the whole spyware angle, I was totally sold on a story which vilifies this practice and exposes this software as the devil’s work. Suburban snooping leads to an intricate web of deceit and deception with deadly and horrific results.

The house was hollow, gone, deceased - its heart had stopped beating, the blood had stopped flowing, the innards had begun to decay. I suppose that's okay, but for me, without a more attractive premise, you'd better bring something besides twenty pages of explanation at the end of the journey to make up for the desert that was the first 9/10 of the novel. Harlan’s novel TELL NO ONE (NE LE DIS A PERSONNE) was turned into the renowned French film, directed by Guillaume Canet and starring Francois Cluzet. When Mike and Tia learn through an e-mail that Adam is going to attend a party with drinking and drugs, they set out to intercept him and prevent him from going without letting on to the fact that they know, and even more importantly HOW they know.

Hold Tight is one of my favorites from among Christopher Bram's books -- and I know I'm going out on a limb when I say this, because he's written some very good books, and readers and critics are very divided about Hold Tight. Question: If you had a magic pass allowing you to tell your teenager one thing and they would listen, believe and take it to heart - what would you say? This erotic, suspenseful novel captures the big-band feel of New York City in the forties, the intensity of a nation at war, and the passion of men for their country—and for each other. There must be a trend now in new novels to expose the horrors of the technological age, and this one is no exception. A couple are a tad bit stereotypical, but I didn't find this too jarring (some reviewers did though: again, make up your own mind).When I learned about this book i was very interested in reading it for myself but I also felt an instant responsibility, even before I'd read it, to share it with my book club friends. In the end I was satisfied with the ending, it wrapped up but in a logical way - not like some books I read that tie everything up extra neatly. He witnessed the round up of Jewish men by the Nazis and is shocked to see the same tactics used by the New York police on homosexuals.

If you're looking for a book that will hook you at the beginning and not let you go, then this is a great book to immerse yourself in ( my personal opinion).As if Mike Baye doesn't have enough to worry about, his medical partner, Ilene Goldfarb is treating Lucas Loriman, the son of his next door neighbors Susan and Dante Loriman.
